Conquering the impossible with science and making the world a better place in the process? That is the role of a Mechanical Engineer at Demcon Advanced Mechatronics in Eindhoven. Curious to learn more? Read on!
Conquering the impossible with science
Demcon is renowned for doing so-called “greenfield engineering”: developing technical concepts from scratch. Starting with a customer’s idea, we use our creativity and technical skills to design a working prototype. This involves customer interaction to define technical specifications and doing feasibility studies to see if we can conquer the impossible with science. In multidisciplinary teams, we then design, calculate, test and realize a working prototype or a small series.
Our high-tech projects are technically challenging by nature. Here, we work with tolerances within µm or we create medical isotopes without a nuclear power plant. You can imagine how challenging that can be at times.
At Demcon, we consciously take on projects that really make the world a better place. This is most evident in (but not limited to) our medical projects, where your design on e.g. a respiratory machine can save lives. In addition, we work on high tech projects that contribute to a better environment.
At Demcon, we see our engineers as entrepreneurs. In our multidisciplinary projects, you may at times be the only engineer representing the mechanical discipline. You can make use of the support of your (mechanical) peers, but it is up to you to convey your expertise.
Entrepreneurship, then, comes with freedom. You work on projects that spark your interest, whether it be medical or high tech. You can choose to focus on either industry, or both. It really is up to you.
