In this position as mechanical engineer at Demcon, you will be involved in a large variety of complex systems and products. Working together with the mechatronics, electronics, software and production departments plays an important role in this respect.
YOUR DAY AT DEMCON AS MECHANICAL ENGINEER
As a mechanical engineer, you share responsibility with the team for making the mechanical aspects of our complex design issues a success. Your broad interests benefit our projects in various market areas, such as the high tech, optomechatronics and medical sectors. You are involved from the specification phase up to and including the integration phase and are given a great deal of responsibility and freedom in this respect. In consultation with your group leader you are given every opportunity to choose projects you consider interesting. This transparent approach typifies our culture, as does the personal and committed working atmosphere.
You already contribute your ideas during the concept phase and you are subsequently responsible for the engineering and substantiation of the concept by making calculations and developing test configurations. You develop the entire construction file, contract out critical systems components and subsequently manage the implementation. You consult other disciplines to arrive at an overall design and you feel responsible for the design you are entrusted with.
YOUR BACKGROUND, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE
- You have a university of applied sciences degree/university degree in Mechanical Engineering;
- You have at least 4 years of relevant work experience as a mechanical engineer in developing high tech, optomechatronics or medical systems;
- You seek in-depth knowledge of fine mechanical construction principles, analysis methods and DFX;
- You have a good command of the Dutch and English language;
- You are skilled in the use of 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks;
- You like to assume responsibility up to and including the verification of the end-product;
- You are not afraid to approach others;
- You have a well-developed sense of responsibility.
