We injection mold products for many different markets such as medical, tooling industry, automotive and bicycle industry

Function

Demcon is working on making all of its processes more sustainable.
One of the processes with the highest impact in terms of CO₂ is Metal Injection Molding (MIM).
This 3-4 month internship is set-up to optimize the process and reduce the environmental impact of Demcon’s MIM facility.

This would likely involve the following steps.

· Analysis of the efficiency MIM process itself

· Analysis of CO₂ and other emissions

· Analysis of waste leaving via sewage water

· Formulating concrete steps to improve the process and reduce environmental impact

· Quantification of their potential improvement.

Requirements

This internship is most suitable for a master student Process or Mechanical engineering, or similar technical background.

On-site visits, or working at the MIM facility in Enschede, are an important part of the internship.
