What are you going to do?

The Department

The department, consisting of about fifteen passionate engineers, is engaged in the development of custom electronics for mainly medical products ranging from health trackers and IVD devices to surgical instruments. For this we have expertise in analog and digital electronics such as: sensors, wireless technology, motion and data acquisition. But also of applicable medical standards and associated certification. In our products, the interfaces between mechanics, software and electronics play an important role. Engineers work in multidisciplinary teams.

Typical work includes:

  • Specification and concept design
  • Development of the architecture into a working PCB design
  • testing of the electronic system
  • integration into the final product.

As group leader you are the face of the department and have a key function in the company. You have both an entrepreneurial attitude and a quality mindset with which you can take the department to the next level. You will make a significant contribution to the further growth of your group in order to contribute to the growth of DEMCON Lifescience & Health Enschede.

Your main task is the (further) development of our people within the department: developing the employees by means of suitable projects and coaching and training them. You also secure the competencies in the team and ensure a healthy team composition. In addition, you ensure that the team has the right facilities and tools available and you ensure that the working methods are followed and improved where necessary. The department development is strategic, matching the needs in the (future) market. To this end, you maintain a network in the region; with, for example, the UT, Saxion and relevant trade organizations. 

Besides developing, coaching and assessing your people, you have the primary task of assigning your employees to projects and monitoring their contributions. You are responsible for the quality and efficiency of your employees’ work in the projects. Close cooperation with business unit managers, project managers and group leaders (also from other departments and branches) are at the basis of successfully delivering technology for our (end) customer.

What do you bring to the table?

As a group leader, you are energized to get the best out of your people, coach them and empower them and you possess or bring with you:

  • Completed college/university education within Electronics, Electrical Engineering or related fields; Affinity with the Medical Systems business unit;
  • Several years of leadership experience;
  • Knowledge of technical developments within an academic environment;
  • You have good contact skills to build bridges between the electrical department and the other disciplines;
  • Communicative strong at different levels;
  • Motivator/inspirator and you have a healthy dose of humor;
  • Command of the Dutch and English language.
