What are you going to do?
Demcon is active in the high-tech industry among other things. It is important that we can predict the mechanics of systems well. In this project, we would like to ask you to create a general model that predicts the behavior of a system consisting of multiple objects. The system is illustrated in the images. Where object A is a rigid body with 6 bendable “struts” (orange). These six supports are in three V-grooves. B is stationary, and supports A. A must be able to be removed and replaced with as high a precision as possible. The questions we want to be able to answer are:
- How will A land on B if there is a misalignment in X, Y or Rz?
- How much will the support bend?
When we have a good understanding of this model, it can be applied in the design process.
What do you bring to the table?
We are looking for a talented student of mechanical engineering, physics or similar with a specialization in precision engineering. You are driven, eager to learn and easy to communicate with. Also, you are not afraid of tackling difficult problems and have an affinity for numerical simulations. A high degree of independence is expected.
